After another cold and grey winter, we have made it to weather that isn’t miserable to be outside in! To enjoy this season properly, we’ve found the top 5 running/biking trails in the Cleveland area.
#5: Rockefeller Park
Located on the east side, this 7-mile trail will take you along MLK Dr. and Superior Ave., right near Case Western Reserve University.
Edgewater isn’t just for concerts and relaxing by the water! This short little trail is perfect for a quick cardio session with some great views of downtown.
#3: Lakefront Bikeway
This downtown path travels 17 miles along the beautiful shoreline, from Euclid to Lakewood. While running (or biking) on this trail, you’ll pass by some pretty popular sites, such as the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and First Energy Stadium. Also, being right on the lake, you’ll have a nice breeze to cool you down!
#2: Rocky River Reservation
If the lake is too rough for kayaking or paddle boarding, try running the 13 miles of trail at Rocky River Reservation. This trail starts at the mouth of the Rocky River and takes you all the way down to Strongsville.
#1: Ohio + Erie Canal Towpath
Not only is this our number one pick, but it’s also number one in size! We’re talking about a trail that’s around 100 miles long! There are several trailheads that you can access no matter where you are in Northeast Ohio. You can be ambitious and enjoy the whole trail, or just a stretch of a few miles.
